Those insurance companies pay us commission to sell policies for them.
The commission we receive varies by company.
The average
commission for Commercial policies is about 14% of premium,
but in some cases is as low as 3%.
The commission on personal insurance policies varies between 12% and 5%.
We are not paid commission on state mandated items such as the MCCA charge.
Health insurance commission varies between 8% for individuals and
about 3% for group.
We
may be paid an additional amount from insurance companies if we meet sales and profitability goals as set by the insurance
company’s contract.
